Ophtalmology department

The ophthalmology department of the Central Polyclinic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine provides a full range of medical, diagnostic and preventive care for patients with eye diseases. We use diagnostic equipment from advanced domestic and foreign manufacturers.
The Ophthalmology Department of the Central Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the clinical base of the Department of Ophthalmology of the National Medical University named after OO Bogomolets and the Department of Ophthalmology of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P.L. Shupika
The reception is conducted by ophthalmologists of the highest category, candidates and doctors of medical sciences, who are leading specialists in the treatment of eye diseases in both adults and children.
The ophthalmology department of the Central Polyclinic has the following areas of work (departments):
1. Diagnostic: primary diagnosis to determine the best visual acuity, check intraocular pressure, internal parameters of the eye, examination of the anterior segment, ophthalmoscopy of the fundus and other necessary examinations to establish an accurate diagnosis (optical coherence tomography (OCT), angioOCT, fluorescent ), AB scan, eye surface analyzer (APO)). During the examination, the devices clearly record the parameters of the visual system. All examination methods are painless for the patient and non-contact.
2. Procedural: a careful approach to each patient guarantees the appointment of the optimal method of treatment, including treatment procedures.
3. Orthoptic treatment: the course of hardware treatment is made individually for each patient taking into account features of a course of his disease. Hardware treatment can correct visual disturbances and stop the progression of negative processes in children and adults.
4. Laser: the department presents the latest technical equipment for laser treatment and prevention of complications of the following diseases:
Diabetic retinopathy
Peripheral retinal degeneration
Central retinal degeneration, Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), Central serous chorioretinopathy
The department also performs such laser operations as: Nd: YAG-laser dissection of secondary cataract, Nd: YAG-laser iridotomy, laser selective trabeculoplasty (SLT), diode-laser cyclophotocoagulation, prophylactic peripheral laser coagulation, PP.
5. Glaucoma:
Determination of peripheral and central fields of view (using a Humphrey computer perimeter)
Tonography
Tonometry (according to Goldman, pneumotonometer, modern ICare tonometer)
Investigation of the condition of the optic discs using optical coherence tomography (OCT)
Pachymetry
6. Operating:
Surgical cataract removal with implantation of an artificial lens (IOL)
Surgical treatment of glaucoma
Endovitreal administration of drugs
Ophthalmoplasty of the periorbital area
Surgical and laser treatment of papillomas, xanthelasma, chalazions, atheroma and other formations on the eyelids.

Operations are performed by leading ophthalmic surgeons of Ukraine.
If necessary, communication with other specialists and medical-diagnostic services (radiology department, functional diagnostics room, clinical and biochemical laboratories, bacteriological laboratory, exercise therapy room), as well as communication with the ophthalmology department of the Central Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Center of Microsurgery , Alexander Clinical Hospital.
